16 Perfect Baby Beach Essentials

We are heading to the beach this weekend with our 15-week-old, and while we are excited, we also want to be extra prepared by some baby beach essentials. Most of our time will be spent at the beach house since we don’t want her in the sun for too long, but we do plan on going down to the beach for a little while. I want to make sure we have everything we need to keep her comfortable and safe.

Of course, we won’t be taking her into the water at this age, but I know we’ll need some type of sturdy shade, like a beach tent, umbrella, or canopy, to keep her out of direct sunlight. I’ve heard great things about the California beach tent for babies, as it provides shade and a contained space, which sounds like a great option. Some parents have also recommended bringing a small inflatable baby pool, so she can enjoy a little water time without the risks of the ocean. That could be a fun way to keep her cool while still keeping her safe.

Baby Beach Essentials

Sun protection is my biggest concern and it’s number one in my summer must-haves, so I’m planning to dress her in a long-sleeve SPF sun guard and a sun hat to protect her delicate skin. I also bought a baby-friendly mineral sunscreen to use sparingly on her face, but I want to be extra careful since baby skin burns much more easily than ours.

I read that even reflected sunlight from the water can cause redness, so I’ll make sure she stays in full shade as much as possible. A portable fan might also be useful to help her stay cool, especially if it gets too hot. And since babies have a tendency to get sand everywhere on their hands, faces, and even inside their diapers so I’m going to pack extra towels and baby powder to help get rid of the stubborn sand. I’ve heard that baby powder works wonders for easily removing sand from the skin, so I’ll definitely be trying that trick!

Feeding her at the beach is another thing I need to think about. If I were breastfeeding, it would be a bit easier, but since we are bottle-feeding, I’ll have to make sure her milk is stored properly. A cooler will be essential to keep bottles at the right temperature, and I plan to portion out bottles ahead of time to avoid the risk of sand getting in them.

It might be a happy experience to take your childrens to the beach, but in order to guarantee pleasure and safety you should have all baby beach essentials in your pocket. To help you organize the adventure, I’ve put up a list of 16 baby beach essentials below.
