Perfect One-Week Itinerary for Exploring Portugal

For the first time, I traveled to Europe; my destination was Portugal, in mid-August for a week between Porto and Lisbon. This time, not like my last travel to Puerto Rico, I chose hotels over Airbnb because they have affordable prices; of course, I booked a few months earlier.

Based on my trip, I created this one-week itinerary to let you see the best of Portugal. From vibrant cities to tranquil beach towns, Portugal is a truly hidden treasure in southern Europe.

Day 1: Lisbon, The Heart of Portugal

Morning: Explore the Alfama District

  • Start your day in Alfama, Lisbon’s oldest neighborhood. Wander through its maze-like streets, marvel at the traditional azulejos (tiles), and visit the Lisbon Cathedral (Sé de Lisboa).
